installation of wireless doorbell

Just received doorbell. How do I get the mounting plate off the main body? Clearly has to so that battery can be inserted. Slight up and down movement of the two bits but no way will it come apart.

Did you try using the small metal tool that comes with the doorbell to release the lock via the hole on the bottom? If there is none for some reason, a small paperclip or a phone's SIM card release tool will work.
