I purchased and installed the Arlo Wire Free Doorbell at my mums.     We set the camera up and Identified areas of interest to record (Her garden and front door).   However the Battery keeps going flat every week and she does not have a busy door.  But what we have identified is that the camera is recording and gives a notification every time a person walks past on the main footpath.   Surely having set specific areas - this should not be the case.  I have no issues with Hive or Ring cameras when set for specific areas.

To get to mums front door you have 3 steps so her house is not on ground level and it has been put 4ft from bottom of door - but it just seems to catch and announce everyone that walks past, and as I said above we set a video area that only shows her garden and footpath.

Activity zones are processed in the Arlo cloud - any motion detection streams video from the camera to the cloud, and then the cloud will supress recordings and notifications that are out-of-zone.

Therefore activity zones cannot be used to improve battery life.

I'd start by reducing the motion sensitivity of the doorbell, and see if you can eliminate detections on the path that way.  That would help the battery life.  Then work on getting the activity zones working (if they are still needed).   https://kb.arlo.com/41/How-do-I-change-the-motion-sensitivity-on-my-Arlo-camera
