Arlo Essential Wireless Door Bell

In your installation instructions you can just use the battery for power or use power from the old door bell.  What is the purpose of wiring a wireless door bell when it already has a battery installed?

There are two benefits.

Wiring the doorbell will

• ring an existing chime when the doorbell is pressed
• trickle-charge the battery, avoiding the need to remove the battery and charge it.

I had an electrician wire the wire-free doorbell but it will not ring my existing chime.  Any ideas???
