I'd like to know how well the Video Doorbell works when I'm not at home or say out in the garden at the rear of my property. How good is the sdignal to the mobile phone?

Depends on your Network and wifi to your doorbell.

If Both are Good - the Videofeed is Good.

Remember...it doesn't really hook directly into your phone.  It gets to your phone via wifi or cell service ( depending on what the phone is on ) AFTER going upstream to the Arlo servers then back
