Help - I'm desperate and losing the will.

I stupidly bought a Chime 2 to go with my wire free video doorbell, that I've had for a year and somehow works (more by luck than design it seems). I don't have a base station or Arlo Hub. Of course, the Chime 2 won't install. I had to take a photo of the ridiculously small QR code and scan that, which worked and overcame the first problem. Then that's as far as I can get. I can't connect to the temp Arlo network. It's got weak security according to my iPhone, but the phone won't let me do anything about that. If I force a join it asks me for a password I don't have. It makes no difference if I change to 2.4ghz on my Eero, it just doesn't work.

So, why doesn't it work? I've tried most of the 'solutions' posted on here, including forgetting my own wifi network and trying over cellular, but it doesn't pick up the internet on my 1 bar of 4G so that's a non starter. Why am I even having this problem? I could tell you what phone and OS I'm on, what my network set up is, but it shouldn't be relevant - it should just b****dy f****ng work. It's frustrating beyond belief.

If an Arlo person reads this, please don't refer me to your useless support channels or troubleshooting guides, please just give me a solution. I just want my doorbell to chime. Does anybody ever get these stupid things to work?

I don't think it has any security.  It is just a temporary connection used during onboarding. So it is odd that it is asking for a password.

Although you don't want to use it, your best option might be phone support.
