Looking for suggestions. I use the pin to eject the doorbell unit so I can charge my battery. But now the unit won't open. Has anyone has this issue?

Define "unit won't open". Do you mean you can't get it out of the mount or you can't get the battery out of the doorbell? Are you using the Arlo-supplied tool to push the release button? A similar tool such as that supplied by cell phone manufacturers to eject the SIM card can also be used. Be sure the tool is properly inserted, not at an angle.

Adding to Jguerdat's post above, be sure you're following the steps here to release the housing on the doorbell: https://kb.arlo.com/000062490/How-do-I-charge-my-Arlo-Essential-Video-Doorbell-Wire-Free

Are you using the supplied tool (or one from a phone that's used to remove SIM cards)? Try pushing the doorbell into the mount a bit when trying to release it to see if that helps.
