arlo essential wire free doorbell 230v connected

Hello,

I am an electician and went to a house to troubleshoot a doorbellfailure.

the doorbell that is used is a arlo essential wire free doorbell.

the problem was that they put 230v wiring directly on the doorbell socket and the doorbell did not charge.

i have fixed the problem with a new doorbell and a normal 24vac powersupply but my question is can i still use this doorbell?

it seems like the doorbell still works when i put a full battery inside but it wont charge then anymore with the socket. do i need to replace the battery or did the doorbell intern charging system break?

I really don't know, but my guess is that the doorbell charging circuitry failed.  If the mistake fried the battery, I'd think it likely wouldn't work at all.

Did you let the doorbell power drain enough that you could tell that charging isn't working?  It might be worth letting it run for a couple of weeks, and see what happens.
