Ultra 2 will record a cat walking and then stop recording after seconds???

why doesn’t it record until the animal is gone? Or anything that is happening, why does it stop while object is still in view and moving?

Check the rule for the camera in the mode you are using, and see if it is set to record until motion stops.  The default rule only records for 10 seconds.

It will still stop recording if the moving animal pauses briefly.  And if the animal is small, the recording might also stop early.

not my case.  Mine (also Ultra 2) do record until cat is gone.

Devices >> camera >> cog wheel >> default ode settings >> Recording length

have you got "record until activity stops" ticked?

In theory, it really depends on how far away the object is from the camera.

But, I did notice a change recently in that fewer (complete) motions are recorded on my ultra, with my Pro 2 now being in its place, that's not the case anymore.

Not only that and regardless, my ultra does skip some motions altogether for sure, and this isn't just the recent change in its behaviour.

When Arlo was Netgear, they knew their business. Now that it's not, it's gone to the dogs.
