I keep looking everywhere to try and figure out what the red dot next to the Wi-Fi house means. Also what does the Wi-Fi house mean? Thanks

It means that Arlo has detected that your phone is connected to your home wifi network (which is required for you to get 4K live streaming). If you were away from home, you'd just see the red dot and Live - no wifi house, and no 4K logo.

BTW, one disadvantage of enabling 4K streaming is that it disables your ability to make a manual recording.

It just means you are watching a live stream (redundant since "Live" indicates the same thing).

Thank you!

Shoot, now I am conflicted if I want to turn off 4k live streaming or not. I really just use the cameras when I am away at work to see what is going on at my house. I would be more than grateful for your opinion, pros, and cons of local 4k streaming. What do you think? I have the paid plan which I did not like at first but found very useful now that I have it.

You'll get 1080p when you are away (or when you are browsing to my.arlo.com).

The only drawback is the loss of manual recording (snapshots and video) when 4K streaming is in use.  Personally I find 1080p livestreaming provides enough detail, so I just leave the setting off.

Yeah, that is what I was leaning to. Thank you so much for the input. I had to sign up for the subscription because I wanted the record and snapshot buttons and that was the only way I could get them. Also, the microSD card turned out awful and would not work, so I threw in the towel and got the service. I gotta say that it is well worth it to me even though I don't like that I did not have a choice because of how bad the local recording was.
