Want to replace my VMB4000 Pro 2 cameras with the new Pro 4 or Ultra cameras. Do I need a subscription? I never had one before with the system as purchased with only the 5 cameras. I shouldn't have to if I'm not adding more cameras regardless what iteration the cameras are. Right?

Unfortunately, not right. The 7-day cloud storage you have now is linked to the camera models, and not the model of the base. Newer cameras (everything starting with the Ultra in 2018) all require a subscription to get any cloud storage.

So, that's why the Pro 2-3's are still in demand?
If I want to use those two cameras, the Pro 4 and the Ultra that I just bought I MUST have a subscription for each camera? Which then means I can add them to the existing one base station. Or if I had two base stations under different email addresses. And I will have one extra camera over the base 5. All working but only paying for the two new cameras, added to either one base or another base in the same home. Right?

If you want cloud storage for them, you'd either need two individual camera subscriptions or a single multicamera subscription. The multicamera subscription would give you 30 days of storage for all your cameras (plus the other subscription features for your older cameras).
One problem is that there is no individual 4K (Secure Plus) plan. So if you go with two single-camera subscriptions, you will only get 2K recording.

It's not that complicated - you can have two single camera plans in the same account, and it doesn't matter how many bases you have. The 5 camera limit applies to your entire account (and it is 5 unsubscribed cameras, not 5 total cameras).

Thanks for your perfect info.
Since those 2 cameras are new, I get the support and help I needed directly from an agent. He told me the same as you. Go with the 2k, and pay the 10$ per month (15$ for 4k). Add up to 30 cameras with my 4 base stations. The main great thing is all my 4 unique email addresses, under one address will be combined into one sign-on with all the cameras there on the Arlo app. All only $10 per month. Thanks again.
