First let's talk about how arlo no longer has support for us customers. I've had their cameras in 2 houses for a decade and u would never have bought them had I known it would be like this.

Port forwarding stopped working on my base station after 2 years of it functioning as it should. I've tried multiple times to refresh and reestablish the ports. Still no good. Can anyone help?

Arlo does still support you but has made a subscription a requirement a couple (?) of years ago. You can always ask for help here which may actually work faster.

Have you assigned an address reservation for your hub(s) in the router's DHCP settings? If you don't a reboot of either the router or hub may provide a different address than what is set up in port forwarding. Use of the router's VPN capability (on many but not all routers) wouldn't need this.

Start with https://canyouseeme.org/ and see if the port is actually open (and not blocked somewhere on the path).

Also make sure the port forwarding rule in your router is forwarding to the correct local IP address.  (Also, if you have not reserved a local IP address for the smarthub, then it is best to do that.   Most routers have this capability).
