I use the Arlo app on iPhone and iPad.  It seems like the unread badge count doesn’t synchronize across the devices, at least very well.  Frequently, I’ll see a badge that shows I have unviewed videos, but I’ve already seen them on the other device.

The work-around I use now is to force-quit the application, then re-start it.

Am I missing something? If not, how do I ask Arlo to improve this?

This Badge Counter Sync-flow you are experiencing between devices is functioning as designed. you will need to manually clear each device within the library for the badge counter to clear to 0.

That’s unfortunate.

Consider an email application that you run on both your iPhone and your iPad.  You wake up in the morning and have 5 unread messages.  You read one on your iPhone, so now the unread count is 4.  A little while later, you switch to your iPad, which now shows that you have 4 unread messages.  You read 2, and then move back to your iPhone, which now shows you have 2 unread.

In the case of the Arlo app, it doesn’t make sense to me why one would want to have to view all of the “unread” images on one device, and then have to do the same thing on another device.  So I would ask you to reconsider the design.

sometimes there are no motions detected, but the red number on the app shows more than 200

please fix it!
