We just bought a 3 camera Arlo Ultra System.  The cameras are all mounted ~ 2m above ground level, with motion generally occurring across the filed of view.  However, we have noticed that all cameras fail to record many events.  The cameras seem to be more sensitive to left-to-right motion than motion in the opposite direction.  Also, the cameras seem not to record any events for hours at a time which is difficult to believe.  Events in the in the “grey zone” of the camera positioning feature are mostly not recorded, even with sensitivity set to 100.  What can be done to improve the performance?

We are losing our confidence in this produce!

Have you increased the motion sensitivity in your modes and rules?

How far away is the motion?  Also, what type of objects is it missing (people, vehicles, animals)?

The motion is mainly from people and vehicles.

One camera is mounted at the street side of our house with the street about 8 meters away.  That camera will pick up autos and then a short time later miss the pedestrians walking along the near sidewalk.

I had not done that, but did it now.

I will let you know how it works.

Thanks

Hi Kevin, that is correct. Cameras will not record motion events in the ‘gray area’ or top 1/3 of the screen regardless of motion sensitivity settings.
