Greetings everyone,

Does anyone know if the Arlo base station randomize its MAC address?  I ask because I need to add a filter onto my network that will block all network access to the internet that is not on a MAC whitelist. I would like the Arlo cameras and their base stations to work 100% of the time.

By default, iPhones and many Android devices will randomize their MAC addresses on the network unless the owner turns this feature off.  A randomized MAC address cannot be added to the whitelist because the Network Admin cannot predict what that MAC address will be.

If it helps, I am using the VMB4500 and the VMB4000 base stations.

Thanks,

Not that I'm aware of. However, information is lacking about this kind of setup. You could always try, though.

Not sure either but I have had my router fix the Base IP address using the MAC address for years.

The MAC address is static for each device which can be confirmed by checking the label on each device and/or the box that it came in.

It does not, so you can whitelist the base (and reserve it's IP address if you wish).
