Do you have to subscribe to a plan to use your cameras?

    The library holds stored videos - normally saved in the Arlo Cloud.  And cloud storage requires a subscription for all currently sold cameras.

     

    If you are connecting the cameras through a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub, then you can use direct access to local storage instead of a subscription.  But there are quite a few limitations - in particular, remote access to your recordings doesn't work with all internet service providers.

No.  But several features do require the subscription

  • cloud storage
  • activity zones when on battery power
  • smart classification (person, vehicle, package, etc).

Will I still have access to both live view and the library… will I get notifications when there is motion… ????
