Do Ultra cameras need to be plugged in for continuous recording like Pro 2s? Especially since you cannot buy charging cords yet.

Yes for CVR they need power.
If its sheltered on your porch , the indoor cable might do, but I HIGHLY reccomend the outdoor ones as they charge quicker, have a long cable and are weather resistant.
Powered Ulteas also use pixel detection not just PIR for movement detection afaik.

No, it turns out pixel detection has been removed with the latest firmware. Only PIR detection is now available, plugged in or not.

Yes. Of my four Ultra cameras, one is continuous because there was one charging cable in the box. In May, when the outdoor magnetic charging cables come out, I will have two continuous cams.
