Can I use a pocket wifi modem for my Arlo ultra instead of wired modem? My reasoning for this is that when there is a cyclone and the telephone lines are out (but I still have power), I would like to still use my security cameras and connect them to my pocket wifi as a backup.

You need either a modem with an Ethernet port or a WiFi extender that's connected to your WiFi modem that has the port. There's no other way to connect the hub to the Internet - must be via the cable.
