Am I understanding correctly that the Ultra does not include IR and only has a white light? If so, this was a serious mistake. Being these cameras are not securely mounted being undetectable is a requirement. A white light coming on will immediately give away the cameras location and enable a person to remove the camera. This eliminates further surveillance in that zone and results in camera theft. Also, white light eliminates use with sleeping children and animal detection as both will be startled by the white light activation.

The Ultra has very good low light level response in B/W or Color....

The color works surprisingly well with even my normal outdoor lights on the house. ( with out the internal lighting )

As to mounting, I recommend a good screw in mount.

Thanks! So, the white light can be disabled?

Yes, you can disable the LED spotlight. You can dim it, as well.

Plus, there isbthe deterrent effect of having a bright spotlight come on when thet are picked up by the PIR.

I have actual motion activated high lumen security lights for that purpose. They are not located where the cameras are as to not draw attention to the camera locations. I have them moiunted in discreet locations where they will likely go unrealized as I prefer. A couple are even in trees with little guille suits on them for camoflauge.

Then, for you, disabling the internal spotlight should work well.
The cameras should still switch to colour mode when those lights come on.
The night vision in B&W before there is enough light to go colour is better than old generations too.
