Hello!

I have two Arlo Ultra Cameras; however, one has stopped detecting movement for no apparent reason.

I have:

- Adjusted the sensitivity on the motion detector test to its maximum setting (note, the LED does not detect any motion regardless of the setting or the movement in front of it.)

- Checked for firmware updates via the Arlo App (iOS - up to date), however, the app suggests these are up to date (running 1.070.52.1_35_1bdb65f).

- Powered down, removed battery, and re-powered the Camera.

- Removed the camera as a device from the base station and re-added it.

- Checked base-station firmware up to date (Smart Hub, firmware 1.17.1.2_1157_0e6c162).

- Ensure the lens is clean and device is within range of the basestation.

Notes:

- The camera works fine if I view a live feed through the app.

- The camera has not been exposed to any damage or weather; it was tucked under an eave of the house and had not been touched since it last worked effectively.

- My other Ultra camera on the same base station works as expected.

- Unsure if this is important, but the hardware is 'H7' whereas the other Arlo Ultra that continues to work is 'H8'.

It seems that the motion detection has simply stopped for no apparent reason; grateful for any advice.

Many thanks

Nick

Does the camera have a subscription, trial or paid? Check Settings, Subscription.

It sounds like you are saying that the motion detection test is failing - if so, something in the camera hardware might have failed.

Try a reset next, it might help.  https://kb.arlo.com/000062438/How-do-I-factory-reset-my-Arlo-wire-free-camera

If not, check the warranty status (warranty is 1 year).

Thanks for the idea,

Yep it's on a paid subscription and is listed amongst the camera's on the plan.

Thanks,

Yes, it is not detecting any motion. Unfortunately have tried the reset; and out of warranty.

I think it must be a hardware failure - might be time to replace!

Cheers,
