Arlo Ultra Hissing and not recording sound

Recently purchased Arlo Ultra with 2 cameras.  Worked ok for about a week then the first one developed a constant hissing sound and did not record any sound.  Now the second one has done exactly the same.

Arlo have replaced the first one, and I am now contacting them regarding the second.

What is going on??? Anyone any advise on this please - or are they a complete waste of money and will never work properly?
