I have a base hub version VMB4500r2, firmware version 1.25.1.0_4548_1f1c874. I purchased three cameras to work with this hub. The cameras are Essential Outdoor Cameras, version 1.4, firmware version 1.5.1_1138_0fff976. The hub does see the cameras in that they cameras show up in the base hub Device Settings area. I added a 114 GB USB device to the base hub for local storage and it is available in the Local Storage Settings area of the base hub. The cameras do activate when there is motion because I see an alert on my iphone when this happens. Motion dectection is working and Record un til activity stops (up to 5 min) is selected in the Default Mode Settings for all cameras. The base hub does see my wifi and it is connected. I can view all the base hub and settings for all cameras from the iphone app.
I would like to record videos on the base hub instead of in the cloud. This feature is the entire reason that I chose Arlo several years ago. I would like the cameras to activate on motion and record the video to the base hub (but not the cloud). This used to work with the older cameras and I could browse the videos using the iphone app. The iphone app used the cell connection to connect to the base hub and browse the videos. Is this possible?
Features I would like to have:
1. Connect three Essential Outdoor Cameras to my VMB4500r2 base hub.
2. Record videos from cameras on the base hub based on motion activation.
3. Browse videos on the base hub from the iphone app.
4. Delete or save videos on the base nub to my iphone for later analysis.
Thanks for any help.

You should see the local recordings there.

Unfortunately, the app cannot view recordings from your base station. Only the SmartHubs (VMB4540 and 5000) support this. In the current setup, you must Eject the drive from the base and connect it to a computer for viewing. There's no workaround except to purchase a hub (I'd suggest the 4540) and move the cameras and drive to that.

Thank you for the reply. I purchased the base hub VMB4540r4 and I setup all three of my Essential Outdoor Cameras but they do not record on the base hub. I get notifications and I can see the live video feed but there is no recordings like the previous version of the Arlo software. There is the Feed area of the UI in the bottom of the UI. If I click on that I just see the "Get a plan to view video recordings and more." But that isn't what I want because I purchased the base hub so that I could get local recordings. Maybe Arlo just removed the feature and they don't support it anymore. If this is true then I will just scrap this project and purchase another security system or build one myself.
Is the record to base hub supported anymore?
