Hi Arlo Community,
I'm experiencing a persistent error when trying to integrate my Arlo Ultra 2 cameras with
tinyCam Pro and hoping someone in the community might have encountered and resolved this
issue.
Error Message:
"Value Unknown of type java.lang.String cannot be converted to JSONObject"
My Setup:
9 x Arlo Ultra 2 cameras
Arlo SmartHub (all devices firmware up to date)
tinyCam Pro on Amazon Firestick 4K Max (latest version)
App is in Developer mode
Verified Arlo account credentials are correct
What I've Already Tried
1. Updated all Arlo camera and SmartHub firmware to latest versions
2. Updated tinyCam Pro to the most recent version available on Amazon Appstore
3. Cleared tinyCam Pro cache and force-stopped the app
4. Removed and re-added cameras with correct channel assignments
5. Verified SmartHub is online and showing solid blue LED
6. Restarted both SmartHub and Firestick multiple times
7. Confirmed my Arlo credentials work fine in the official Arlo Secure app
8. Temporarily disabled 2FA to test (no change)
9. Factory reset cameras and SmartHub, then reconfigured everything
10. Contacted tinyCam Pro developer via email (sent over a month ago with no response)
All cameras work perfectly in the official Arlo Secure app, SmartHub shows online and all cameras are connected
tinyCam Pro can detect my Arlo account but fails when trying to load camera feeds and Error persists across app restarts and device reboots, I'm hoping we can get some sort of updated from the developer of tinyCam Pro or from Arlo, any info or input from the Arlo Community would be much appreciated, Thanks
Regards
Rob

Title: Ongoing Issues Linking Arlo Ultra 2 to Alexa on Fire TV Stick 4K All Standard Fixes Tried,
Still Failing.
“Communication with Camera No. 1 disabled because request started from linked Alexa
device”
Hi everyone,
I've spent the past several weeks trying (and failing) to get reliable integration between my Arlo
Ultra 2 cameras and Alexa on a Fire TV Stick 4K connected to an LG TV. After following every
published step and plenty of advice from fellow users, Iʼm still stuck. Iʼd be grateful for fresh
ideas or confirmation that this is a known backend issue.
What works, Live view, two-way audio, recordings in the Arlo mobile app
Basic Alexa voice commands on Echo devices unrelated to cameras
What doesn't Work,
Alexa, show me <camera name>” on Fire TV 100% of the time I get
“Communication with Camera No. 1 disabled because request started from linked Alexa
device”, Audio comes through but the video never loads
Troubleshooting steps already performed
1. Disabled / re-enabled the Arlo Skill (multiple times).
2. Deregistered and re-registered Fire TV Stick and Echo devices to ensure a single Amazon
account.
3. Deleted duplicate Alexa integrations from Arlo → Settings → Privacy Center → Partners.
4. Factory-reset Echo, Fire TV Stick, SmartHub, and one camera for testing.
5. Verified microphone & speaker toggles on each camera; reset Location & Privacy on iPhone
so the Arlo app now asks for mic permission.
6. Firmware confirmed current on SmartHub and all cameras.
7. “Double-request” trick (“Alexa, show me X” twice) and pre-activating live view in Arlo app –
still fails most times.
8. Tried viewing through Silk browser on Fire TV (my.arlo.com) – only Arlo Secure subscription
page loads, no camera dashboard.
Key Errors
1. “Communication with Camera No. 1 disabled because request started from linked Alexa
device”
2. Repeated “Waiting for Arlo” spinner with audio but no video
Any insights, even just confirmation that this is a known unsolved bug, would be hugely
appreciated. Thanks in advance
PS Ive come to the conclusion there probably isn't a fix for these issues, Alexa and TinyCam Pro, for a dedicated Monitor TV, The only way to view your cameras are on the Arlo App or by Chrome casting onto a TV.

Yes I have, I wrote that in my first message, I emailed Alexey over a month ago twice (May + June 2025), no reply
Maybe because I'm using Arlo Ultra 2 Cameras, not supported from that provided link
All cameras e.g. Arlo, Ultra, Pro, Pro 2, Pro 3, Q, Go, Baby, Video DoorBell (cloud/h264, 1-w audio, cloud playback)

The funny thing is, I can get RING Front Door Camera and Cheap Temu Cameras to work with Alexa and TinyCam Pro but not Arlo Ultra 2 Cameras, just errors, Alexa a green screen and sound no live feed, TinyCam Pro the same thing no live feed, communication error with video feed.
