I just “upgraded” to the Ultra 2 system from my Pro 2 system. Placing my Ultra 2 cameras at the same location of my Pro 2 cameras result in very poor connectivity!!! I contacted customer support and was given the same information to try, verbatim, from the web site troubleshooting guide. No help at all!! The video is not any sharper than the Pro 2 cameras…. What a disappointment, now I’m stuck with this lemon camera system!

WHat base/hub is the Ultra connected to? If it's the VMB5000, it's possible that the 5GHz band is being used which has a shorter range than 2.4GHz. The VMB4540 is 2.4GHz only. Try moving the hub away from the router as much as practical. The Pro 2 has a 130 degree FOV while the Ultra, even though 4k, is 180 degrees. That means each pixel has to cover a wider area. ALso, since the 4k recording has to be transmitted through the Internet and storage space is always an issue, the compression used may be higher (I'm not an expert on that). Compare comparable videos to see if the Ultra videos are 4k the size - they're not.

Thank you for the info.   My plan is to add a second VMB5000 base station via a mesh system.  My internet is with Starlink using the Gen 2 Starlink router.  My plan is to bypass the Starlink router and set up an Orbi 970 system for the mesh.   I have seen numerous posts stating the VMB5000 will not work with an Orbi system.  Can you confirm, and if it cannot what mesh satellite system would you recommend that interfaces with the arlo VMB5000 base station?

Don't know where you saw those, but I have two VMB5000s connected to mine.  I'm currently using the 860 with two satellites.
