Hello,
i've read in a few threads that the Ultra 2 does not use the local WiFi but it's own back to the base station and unlike other models they cannot connect directly to the home WiFi but only to the base station. To get the reception does that mean I have to buy additional base stations and spread them around the house? Can anyone confirm that this is the case?
Thanks.

Well, this depends on the details of your setup. Many find that they need multiple bases, others find that one is sufficient.
You can get some idea by measuring the signal strength using a phone or laptop. You'd turn off any extenders or mesh elements, and bring the phone/laptop to the spot where you want the camera. Then see what signal strength your home wifi has there, and maybe check that you get reasonable internet access speeds from those spots.
Another option is to get the Pro 4, as it can connect to your home wifi.
