Why does my Ultra2 record Birds flying past but no cars driving by? Makes no sense at all.

Your smart notifications are set to person only. If you want the motion to be tagged and labeled, you will need to select the other smart notification options as well.

How far away are the cars (and the birds)?

About 10 to 15 feet.

Do you see "Library" in your app menu?  Or do you instead see "Feed" and "Dashboard"?

Do you need to record cars? These cameras are designed to be used for people. Of course, cars certainly can be recorded but usually it's, what's the point?

Have you checked the camera settings in Default Mode Settings to see how motion detection is set? Have you tried increasing it? Are the cars really 10-15 feet away?

The point is before the transition to the new application it worked as designed for years. Years ago a car stopped by a stole two of my cameras, that's the point also

So, what exactly is the motion sensitivity set to? Were the cameras armed when stolen? You should have gotten recordings of the person as they approached the cameras. A screenshot of the camera view could be useful.

Have you checked the feed settings, and made sure that vehicles aren't filtered out?

The filter settings are sticky, so they do remain in force until you go back in and change them.

The smart notifications are set to persons only, and it alerts for persons. What I don't understand is why it actually creates a recording for birds and cats but not cats. On the old system I had it set to persons only as well and it alerted for that, but it still recorded any motion regardless. That's how I want it to work again. Ever since the new system/application was released, it doesn't work right anymore. Everything recorded is just called Motion, except for persons it calls it correctly. It calls a cat Motion not Animal.

I think that is what the new design is supposed to do if you have the Secure Plus subscription.

FWIW, I agree it would be better if the recordings were tagged properly even if you turned off the notifications for the category.

So the mystery is solved as to why my Ultra2 cameras record everything but cars: I changed the field of view from 180 degrees to 155 degrees and then back to 180 degrees and now it works. I don't understand what this has to do with it, but it works. As if it got stuck on something. The same applies to the 2nd Ultra2 I have. All the other cameras I have like Pro, Pro2, Pro, Essential 2nd Gen., Essential XL and the old Arlo 1st Gen. always worked, just not those two.

I have the Plus Unlimited plan but the identification of objects still does not work. I shows MOTION for everything but Persons.
