Why is the Arlo SmartHub not battery backed up.  The Cameras are battery backed up so in case of power failure, they will keep on operating.  Our Internet Hub is battery backed up for four hours if the power goes off.
The Arlo SmartHub has no battery backup.  We live on a farm where the main breaker for power on the farm is on a pole in the yard.  When we had a breaking a couple of years ago, the fist thing the thieves did was to turn off the power to the whole farm by turning off the main breaker on the pole.
The Arlo SmartHub is operated on 12 volts, why is there not an option to have a 12V battery in parallel to the 12V power adaptor so that if the power is turned off the SmartHub will continue working.  Then the Arlo Security cameras will keep working !!
At present the SmartHub is the weak link in the system.  When the power is off we have no security system because the SmartHub quit working.
When the power comes back on, will the SmartHub start operating normally, or will it be offline awaiting maintenance?
Do power bumps affect the operation of the SmartHub?  Would a battery in parallel to the AC adaptor, smooth the power to the SmartHub, so that the SmartHub would not go off line as often, and allow the system to keep working while AC power is off.   Arlo blames poor Internet connection for the SmartHub going offline.  Maybe the SmartHub is going off line due to power too.

Until the Arlo system becomes more stable, especially the SmartHub, this is not a system usable for security services.  We go away for months at a time.

The system is only as good as its weakest link, the SmartHub.  If AC power is off, there is no system !!

SmartHub off line, there is no security system !!

FWIW, you also need internet - so your router needs to maintain power too.

You can get some inexpensive UPS products to keep your base stations and internet working when the power fails.
