Recordings 4k only 8x zoom

Hi,

I have a couple of Arlo Ultra 2 4k cameras. In live feed i can 12x zoom but for recordings I can only 8x zoom. Angle is Full 120 degrees  I don't have auto tracking on. Anyone know why this is?

Thanks for the feedback, where are you seeing these zoom numerical values? and How are you initiating the zoom on the mobile app and web for recordings?

@ShayneS - I am also able to zoom in my Ultra (original) more in the livestream than I can in recordings.  I am seeing this in the iOS app (6.23.0).  My iPhone 12 mini is running iOS 26.4.1.

Hi, all i do is either pick the live feed or a recording and use 2 fingers to zoom in. The zoom factor in both vases is shown in the middle of the video.

Is it possible to provide two separate screenshots of the same image with comparison between recording and live view your referencing? I'm not able to replicate as described at the moment. Are all your devices affected as well?

Thank you for the additional information. I was able to replicate this. It appears to be Android related. I notified the appropriate team, and I'll provide an update as soon as possible.

@BobbyOwens_ Thanks for the images. When you livestream and check your recorded videos, does the pixelation or the resolution appear to be the same? Or is one more pixelated than the other? If so, do you mind letting me know which one that is, live streams or recorded content?

As I said earlier, I am seeing this on iOS.  Although the zoom level isn't reported by the app, I can zoom in much more while livestreaming the camera than I can while viewing a recording from the same camera.

I would say the recording quality is lower than live when at 8x zoom.
