Hi
So i've got 2x Arlo Ultra 2 and a video doorbell. I have set them up and they work fine, however i do not see any option to use RTSP or other protocols like all other brands i have previously used.
That means that i am not able to have the video feed go to my NVR. I realize i shouls have investigated before purchasing to see if the product was compatible with basic camera standards. But i figured at such a high price it would support something as basic as RTSP?
Will something like that we supported in the future or is my only options to either get rid of them and go with Tapo instead, or use the arlo-cam-api from Github and not be able to use the app?
I don't have experience with Ubiquity, Ring or other big vendors, only worked with Tapo at home and then enterprise brands such as Hikvision and have not yet seen such a weird lockdown.
If anyone has suggestions or know when these cameras will be out of beta, please let me know! Thanks!

Arlo has never supported RTSP and likely never will. The stream is proprietary and encrypted for security. However, you can check out tinyCam Monitor which does work with Arlo (or at least did) to see if it offers any option that may satisfy your needs. It's been a long time since I used it briefly so I have no idea what it may or may not offer.

Bummer. Great that they have a security feature. But if you ask me, it should be something you could disable at will and not something forced down your throat.
I'll check out tinycam and see if it does the job. The need i have is to be able to stream and record directly to my NVR, which is accessible from outside my network. Cameras and other smart home devices are on an isolated network. But i want to be able to watch the stream remotely and get notifications anf stuff, without having to have my cameras being online.
I am rather paranoid, and cameras is something that is easy to hack when online.

Since you have Ultra 2 cameras, they also require that a SmartHub be used. In the hub's settings is a section for local recordings (Storage Settings) where you can enable recordings made to a microSD card in the hub. That records any detection-based recording as well as to the cloud. You can access that remotely via a router-based VPN or port forwarding that allows access to the hub. Not the same as direct recording to an NVR but is similar.
