Hello Arlo Support,
I am experiencing an issue with my Arlo Ultra 2 cameras connected to a VMB5000 SmartHub.
After my Arlo Secure subscription expired, cloud recordings stopped working as expected. However, local storage on the microSD card is also not working correctly.
Here is what I have checked:
SmartHub model: VMB5000
Firmware version: 1.31.0.0_1979_0493cac
Local Storage Status: Ready
"Record Video" is enabled in my armed mode.
Motion detection works correctly and I receive motion notifications.
Direct Storage Access (View Recordings) is enabled.
The microSD card has been formatted through the Arlo app.
I have restarted the SmartHub.
The used storage on the microSD card continues to increase (for example from 0.11 GB to 0.20 GB), which suggests that data is being written to the card.
Despite this:
The Local tab always shows "There are no events for this day."
This happens both remotely and when accessing the system from the local home network.
Port forwarding is not available, but I understand this should only affect remote access, not viewing recordings while connected to the same local network.
Could you please check if this is a known issue with the VMB5000 or my firmware version? Is there any fix or additional troubleshooting you recommend?
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,

Have you tried ejecting the card from the app, and then browse the recordings on a PC? That would confirm that you have a playback issue, not a recording one.

There will be no recordings shown when you are remote, unless you have a VPN on the phone that connects to your home network (or have port forwarding set up).

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. That often resolves your issue (and has for me).
