At one of our locations Spectrum put in a new modem. The router tower and ARLO lab base remained the same. But Spectrum changed the Network SSID and password. When I plugged the ARLO configuration together everything came up fine. I thought at a minimum the SSID had to match the old one

Further, some Arlo cameras can connect directly to your WiFi which is the root of the suggestion to change the new router's WiFi setup to use the old SSID and password so the cameras automatically connect. As said above, cameras connecting to a base or hub don't need this.

The cameras connects to the internet via the arlo base station with it’s own closed wifi access.

You’re mobile device connects to the local wifi router network.
