Major Difference between the Ultra and Ultra 2

I am slowly coming to terms that one of my ULTRA is dead.   I've been looking to purchase another one and all searches come  up with the ULTRA 2.

Considering that all of our ULTRAs are not the '2' and connected to various base stations, will I be able to add 

and ULTRA 2 to a base that has two other ULTRAs?   I understand that the ULTRA 2 can connect to the 5ghz network , which the originally ULTRA only could connect to the 2.4ghz.

Do they use the same battery?  Would I get myself into trouble if I brought in an ULTRA 2 into my ULTRA configurations?

They are quite similar, so you should be able to simply replace the Ultra with the Ultra 2.
