How can I set a on/off schedule for an individual Ultra 2 camera in my Arlo account?

I have several Arlo Ultra 2 cameras, some are internal & some external connected to two separate SmartHub 5000's, (external cameras are connected to my hub called internal and external cameras connected my hub called external, they have been all working fine for a number of years.

I would like one of my external cameras only to record between midnight and 09:00 am, the rest to continue to record 24 hours. The only way can see is to connect the ARLO Ultra 2 camera to a spare SmartHub 5000 I have and then use SCHEDULE in MODE to control the individual camera to record between midnight and 09:00 am.

I have looked at using "SCHEDULE" in MODE but it only allows a selection of MY DEVICES (Hubs) not an individual Ultra 2 camera, its works fine if I wanted to schedule all cameras connected to the hub to record between set hours, but I only want to schedule a single camera.

I understand Arlo Modes let you tell your Arlo cameras to respond differently at different times. I have also looked at Arlo Rules and cant see a solution that meets my needs, any ideas how I might resolve my problem?

Thanks

Barry

You schedule modes (combinations of cameras) on the hub, NOT individual cameras. For this situation, you need one custom mode.  That mode arms the 4 cameras you want on all the time, but not the camera you want to turn off.  Let's call this C4.

When C4 is enabled, that camera is disarmed (and the others are armed).  When Armed mode is enabled, all cameras are armed.

So you schedule

  1. Midnight to 9 am: Arm all cameras (Armed mode)
  2. 9 am to midnight: arm just the four cameras (C4 custom mode),

Note the process above would have given you this same result, it was just a more complicated example.

When do you want the internal cameras to record?

Do you see "Library" in your app menu?  Or do you instead see "Feed" and "Dashboard"?

Thanks, Library, one camera to record movement 11pm until 10am next day, 4 other cameras on same hub to record 24 hours when movement detection

Thx.

With Library, you set up one schedule for each smarthub.

First you lay out a timetable that shows what cameras you want armed and disarmed over the day.  You are doing this for each smarthub.

That might look something like this:

  1. Midnight to 9 am: all cameras armed
  2. 9 am to 10 am:  one external camera disarmed, everything else armed
  3. 10 am to  11 pm: one external camera disarmed, one internal camera disarmed, everthing else armed.
  4. 11 pm to midnight: one external camera disarmed, everything else armed.

This particular example has four schedule transitions - but more importantly has three combinations of cameras that are armed together.  That is because (2) and (4) are the same.

You then need one mode for each combination (again, this is for each smarthub, done independently).  Armed will work for (1), so you need to create two custom modes to cover (2) and (4).  Then you are ready to create the schedule - scheduling the modes at the proper times.

This can be very confusing, so if this example doesn't help, then try posting back with named cameras and smarthubs and times, so we work through the steps together here.

Thanks but only want to schedule 1 camera on/off of 5 cameras on a hub.

I have tried to use schedule but it only applies to the hub, not to each camera,

Hi,

I have now moved the camera I want to record for just 12 hours onto a spare hub and used schedule in mode to control the camera to meet my requirements.

i left the other cameras (4) on the previous hub to record 24 hours as before so all working to my original plans.

thanks for your help
