I bought the Arlo Chime hoping that it operated like a standard security chime that you could have make a noise every time a door was opened in your home. I would like to place one near each outside opening door in my home. Is this possible?

It doesn't do that. It's intended to be an alternative to a traditional chime that sounds when the doorbell is pressed. There is no sensor to detect the door opening.

Thank you, does Arlo or another smart system have this?
Arlo does not. You could of course aim a camera at the door, and opening it would trigger a recording. Some cameras include a siren, but that wouldn't silence itself (like a chime would).
There are folks who have door and window sensors, but I don't have any installed myself, and it's not something I've researched.
