Dear Arlo Customer:
We have recently observed suspicious activity potentially impacting Arlo accounts. We take the privacy and security of your account and personal information very seriously and have initiated an investigation into the suspicious activity. From our initial investigation, it appears that attackers may be using credentials obtained from an unknown third-party in an attempt to gain unauthorized access to Arlo accounts. At this stage, we have no reason to believe our own systems have been impacted.
As a precautionary measure, we are recommending that all Arlo customers change their Arlo account password immediately.
To change your password on an iOS device:
- Launch the Arlo app.
- Tap Settings> Profile > Edit.
- Create a new password and confirm it.
- Tap Saveto save your new password.
To change your password on an Android device:
- Launch the Arlo app.
- Tap Settings> Profile.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter your new password and confirm it.
- Tap OK to save your new password.
To change your password on a computer:
- Log in to your Arlo account at arlo.netgear.com.
- Click Settings > Profile.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter your new password and confirm it.
- Click Save to save your new password.
When resetting your password, we always recommend the use of unique passwords for each website, app, or service you utilize.
As stated above, we at Arlo do take your privacy very seriously and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
We are continuing to investigate the matter and will provide updates in this thread as necessary.
