Thinking of upgrading from Arlo Pro 2 to Arlo Ultra. Is my Smart subscription transferable?

Thinking of upgrading from Pro 2 to Ultra. Would my Smart subscription be transferable or be a case of cancelling on Pro 2, getting a remaining credit and then set up a new Smart subscription on Ultra? Thanks.

I don’t own an Ultra system, but my understanding is that it comes with a one year subscription and I believe it may also need to be set up as a new account to get that free year.  You should search the Knowledge Base to see articles that discuss this there.  I know there was quite a bit of information on this topic after the Ultra was first released.   Also, check the Ultra section of this community.  Look back at posts from last Fall.

 

I also don’t recall Arlo’s policy on refunds.  If they refund subscriptions on a prorated basis, you could set up that new account with your Ultra, then remove your Pro2 cameras from the old system and add them to the new system.  And then cancel your subscription on that account.  Alternatively, you could skip the free year and just add the Ultra to your current account.  I’m not certain what the cost difference is for plans.  I know this was discussed in the KBs.
