Arlo was my go to for security cameras. Two systems, multiple cameras.

But I can't figure out why I can't get the same features on my newer cameras that I have on the older ones. ie video storage.

Is the Arlo model as follows .... buy new, more expensive cameras, then have to pay a monthly fee to get the same features as the old ones?

Please help me understand.

The Pro3 and newer require a subscription for cloud storage after the trial expires. You can still use local storage on the newer Hubs. It's the way business changes with the times.

Can you please point me to an article that shows me how to set up local storage?

Disappointed in the "business changes with the times" response.

"The times" are changing, more and more businesses offer free cloud services.

Including other security camera providers.

You would have to complain to Arlo for Cloud storage fee. On The essential cam you need to be connected to a Smart Hub or compatible base for local storage, 4000 and newer. With it's limitation the subscription is worth it to me. Here is the link to Local storage. .
