This can be a common problem, and only required for initial bridge setup.
The bridge connects to 2.4 gh only, not 5 ghz. Most routers typically broadcast both 2.4 & 5 ghz.
Your phone or tablet will connect to 5 ghz first if both support.
Your device needs to be connected to 2.4 ghz Wifi and must force phone or tablet to do so.
Could not get bridge to connect because could not force my Samsung S7 Edge to 2.4 ghz.
I used my Asus tablet on 2.4 to set everything up, after that it does not matter what freq. the phone or tablet is on.
I has same problem with my Lacrosse Weather Station.
May not be your problem, but will hopefully help someone.
This was more complicated that the Arlo Pro 2 camera system.
