Hello, I have a vmb3000 base and vmc3130 cameras.  I have had these for a long time and as of two days ago, the motion detection is not working.  Live view works, I can record on live view, and the light comes on amber when I click on the motion detection button under the settings.  I like my cloud storage.  I found under the community from a guru that when the motion stops working do this:   Remove the base, reset until the LED lights turn amber, remove all cameras and start over.  I have done this twice and I reinstalled the base and installed one camera.  All works except for the motion detection.  When I view the camera(on my pc) the motion icon is grayed out which means it is disabled.

Help, I spoke to Arlo and they can't help because of the 'end of life'.  Is there anything I can do to fix this.  I have six camera.  I have worked through other 'problems' like pink hue, however, I can't fix this.  Thank you.

What mode is the system in?  Have you double-checked the rule for the camera in that mode?

I worked on it for hours and after resetting the base several times, I was able to get the motion back on my cameras.

I have another problem with I just spoke with arlo about.  I don't have subscriptions only use the 7 day cloud.  I synced a camera and it is telling me that it is inactive because I need a subscription.  I thought we could have up to 15 cameras on our accounts and live stream 5 at a time.  So, I spoke with arlo and they agreeed.  I just removed the camera 3030 and reinstalled it and it still is inactive.  I have 6 cameras active.  I did shut one off to see it would make a difference.  Nope!!  What can I do?

Unless you had one of the "special" 6 camera sets, you can only have 5 cameras on the free 7 day plan. You can activate a 6th camera by deactivating another (not just turning it off). IIRC, that used to be by moving a camera out of the free plan so you could then move the inactive camera into the plan. I don't know if that's still possible in the current apps. If you want all 6 active, you need a single camera subscription.

BTW, the so-called 15 camera per base limit isn't a hard and fast one. It's just that the base's hardware may not be able to handle increasing numbers of connections well. The limit of 5 cameras streaming at once is a hard limit.

I hope I am  understanding.  I have six cameras active and I was told that I could have up to 15, however, you can only use live view at the same time on 5 max.  I do know that deactivating isn't removing the camera.  I was hoping it was just a glitch.  My base is VMB3000.  I have two cameras coming because I can't keep the pink hue away unless I turn the camera up side down.  I hate to remove a camera for fear I won't be able to add it.  I just had to remove all 6 and the base so I could reset the base and add all them back in for the 'no motion detection' on all 6 for two days.  I am glad I fixed that and got all 6 added back on.  Thank you for getting back to me, I was hoping for an easy fix.

Also, these 6 cameras are from different purchases over the years from EBAY

Sorry for another post:  I found this from years ago.  I hope me resetting my base didn't ruin it by fixing the motion detection!

I know it says up to 5 cameras, but does that mean I can only view 5 simultaneously?? Or have only up to 5 record and save to the cloud?? Thanks.
The free plan supports 5 cameras. The base supports up to 15 cameras. Each base can stream up to 5 cameras at once, regardless of how many more you have synced to it. Multiple bases can be added. You can subscribe to paid plans to increase the number of cameras in your account or create multiple accounts, each with a different email address, to remain on the free plan for each account but have more than 5 cameras in total.

You understand correctly but don't seem to grasp that only 5 of the legacy cameras can be in the plan since that's what the free plan supports. It's not 5 at a time recording - it's 5 cameras in your account. The addition of the 6th camera is fine but it won't record since the first 5 filled up your account's free plan. That's why you need a single camera subscription for that 6th camera.

Actually 5 unsubscribed cameras (whether legacy or not).  Any more, and you won't get any recordings.

Hello, I have 6 cameras active and working, it was the 7th camera that synced but inactive.  I guess I am lucky.  I did speak with arlo and yes, my base will support 15 cameras to be active and recording with live stream for 5 at once.  However, without any firmware or hardware updates since EOL, your base may not sync that many.  So, with that being said, I hope mine stays as it is.  I did remove one last night and synced it back on and it is find and recording as it was.  I will keep my fingers crossed!!!  Thank you.

update;  I do have a problem with cameras going out of range, so to speak, could be the wifi due to too many people connected.  However, I am back to 4 cameras.  Nothing is forever!
