I tried to enable Video Verification in Arlo Secure following these instructions:

https://kb.arlo.com/000062863/What-is-Arlo-Video-Verification-and-how-does-it-work

After enabling the Video Verification setting for my Arlo cameras, they seem to automatically disable themselves after I check again in an hour. I am using the Arlo Android app on Android 14, Google Pixel 8 Pro. Reproduced this multiple times.

Hi @AnonHero

Thank you for the update. Are you still experiencing this symptom with the video verification?

Yes, I tried again today and have the same issue.

When I enable Video Verification (flip those toggles), exit that page by going back to the Dashboard, and check the Video Verification page again, the toggles are enabled.

But when I check again after some time (like an hour), the toggles are disabled.

I also just realized that if I force quit the app after enabling Video Verification, and open the app again to check, Video Verification toggles are disabled again. It's as if the Video Verification settings never get saved permanently.

I also see from the Home Monitoring Certificate that Video Verification is not enabled (this is how I found this bug):

I was able to get the Video Verification setting enabled on the iOS app. So it seems like this is a bug specific to the Android app.

@AnonHero Oh, thanks for that additional detail. Do you mind providing me with the model and OS of the IPhone?

Are we still experiencing this symptom with Android?

I know I'm not the only person to post on this topic (for example, there is this thread: https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arlo-Secure/Video-Verification-won-t-stay-enabled/td-p/2333184), but I am posting to say that video verification still cannot be enabled on the android app.

I'm am currently using version 6.2.0_28893, released on 06/25/25 on a Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Steps to reproduce:

Go to Account Settings -> Specific Location -> Emergency Response -> Video Verification.

On the Video Verification screen, I can enable any or all cameras and click the save button. I can navigate away from this screen and come back to it, and it will claim that video verification is enabled.

However, if I quit and re-launch the app, everything will be disabled. In fact, even without quitting the app, if I just come back to it an hour or so later everything will be disabled.

This includes cameras that were previously enabled. i.e., if I have Camera A, Camera B, and Camera C. I may have video verification enabled for Camera A and Camera B. If I come into the Android app and enable video verification for Camera C, then quit the app, when I return video verification will be disabled for all cameras.

There is no way to enable the setting from android, and pressing the "save" button will just result in all video verification being disabled, despite the app initially reporting that it is enabled.

The dashboard on the website does work, however, and I have been able to enable video verification on it. Once it is enabled on the website, I can return to the android app and see that it's enabled across the selected cameras. It will stay enabled unless I press save on android, in which case the toggles will then revert to all off, both in the android app (after restarting it) and immediately in the website. They will then need to be re-enabled in the web dashboard.

This is a critical security flaw and needs to be fixed asap. Otherwise, there is a high risk that a user may add a new camera, attempt to enable video verification on it, and end up disabling video verification across all existing cameras. This has happened to me at least twice now, and I'm already aware of this bug and the workaround.
