Morning (in the UK) @ShayneS 

Thought I'd report another issue. Steps to reproduce:

 

- go to Routines

- use any mode

- select Add Device Rules

- add a camera *and* select (ensure) the toggle for notifications is 'off'

- save changes 

 

Even though the toggle was off, the new device is set to record *and* notify. Only once you repeat the above steps but with the device already added, you can then set the status not to receive notifications.

 

I'd also like to ask about the progress of resolving one of my other problems: I can't update firmware on my old base station and I can't add any cameras to it. Needless to say: I'd like this issue to be resolved pronto as I can't use Arlo that I've already paid for. If not possible, please organise for a new SmartHub as a replacement. Thank you!

To help with the symptom you were experiencing with notifications, the team enabled your account for the new experience and custom modes. Moving y0ur account over to this should help with the issue. Can you verify if you have the new feature available within the routines tab?

Let me test this symptom with the notifications and get back to you. Also, please bump me on the thread you have open or apart of for the firmware concern. I am following that one and will provide any new info in the thread.

I am still looking in to the symptom you reported. Does this only occur for your Ultra cameras? I was testing with other devices and was only able to reproduce a similar symptom with ultra only.

Thanks for that. Also, when this occurs, is it just a visible issue or when turned off does it still send the push notification?

In the meanwhile, @ShayneS , I've discovered yet another issue (not kidding you, tough you're probably used to issues with Arlo here and there):

- select SmartHub, then you should be on 'Device info', where the product type is listed, location and firmware etc.

 

- choose the go back arrow (top left corner) - you'll get onto the 'Device settings' screen

 

- choose the go back arrow again (top left corner) - you'll then somewhat miraculously end up in 'Settings' 

 

Also, what is causing the Dev Team to create these problems every time there is a software update of some sirt? Can you tell me? I can take a lot, you know 🤭 - I'm ready for the worst truth...

Sure. Sorry for that.

 

As regards the first issue, it's not just a visible thing but it does send a notification when it's off. I just tested that with Arlo HD.

Gosh @ShayneS , I forgot about this one. I only posted about this because I had come across it and thought it would be worth mentioning. 

I don't actually use custom modes, so no bother if my account is not moved onto the new version.

Oh okay, I'm fairly certain they've placed your account on it already. You should be seeing the custom mode feature. I can request they remove you if possible?

Hi @ShayneS 

There is no custom mode available in my app yet. But no worries about that. As I said above - I don't use a custom mode and have no immediate plans to do so. However, if they've already placed my account on it, that's ok. 

 

The issue described in this thread had arisen while I was installing/re-installing a camera so it was only for the dev team's attention that that was the issue with notifications.
