New App Notification Settings

Since the recent app update, I've been getting new notifications that I do not want to see and I haven't found where to turn them off. I run on a schedule (9pm - 11:59pm + 12:00am - 6am) so I am getting a notification for each camera when armed and when a schedule is activated.  So I get 2 push notifications at 9pm (schedule activated and camera armed) for multiple cameras. Then at 11:59pm I get another set of notifications (schedule activated and camera disarmed), again at 12am, etc. 

This is TOO MUCH NOISE and makes it difficult to actually see the real events I would like to monitor. I only want to see push notifications for motion detected like it was prior to the upgrade. I've disabled mode change event types in the feed settings but this didn't seem to change anything.

A quick update on the mode change notification feature, it's currently in progress, but is now live on iOS, with Android support in the works. On iOS, mode change notifications are enabled by default and can be toggled on or off at any time in your notification settings.

My app was updated to beta 6.40 (Android) yesterday and I don't have the ability to mute mode change notifications (unless it's not under Settings, Notifications).

Version 6.40.0 on Android. 

I used to be able to mute notifications from the settings, however now when I got there it's not there anymore.

I used to be able to mute for 30 minutes, 1 hour and I believe manually and possibly 4 hours, I can't exactly remember but it used to be there, what happened?

Just click on the text (NOT the toggle) to get the time offerings.

It doesn't matter what I click, the option isn't there once I click notifications.

You misunderstand. Go to Settings, Notifications and click on the text of Location Notifications.

Hi all,

The mode change notification feature is now available on both Android and iOS. To manage these notifications, go to Profile Settings > Notifications > Mode Change Notifications.

Please note that this feature is not yet available in some regions, including the EU. I'll share updates as more information becomes available.

The mode change notification is really annoying, waking me up everytime. 

The Arlo app does not use multiple notification categories in Android, so if I mute Arlo notifications, all motion notifications are muted as well. 

If Arlo updates the app in the EU region as well, that would be perfect. 

Or create an extra category in the Android app, so specific items can be muted.

Thanks, but perhaps you could explain how I’m supposed to keep my system armed between 23:59 and 00:00?

As the screenshots show, I’ve had to split a simple overnight schedule into 22:00–23:59 and 00:00–06:00. What happens during that missing minute? Does security take a short break at midnight?

It’s hard to believe this app was designed by anyone who actually uses Arlo cameras. Keeping cameras armed overnight should be one of the most basic functions of a security system. Instead, it has become a scheduling puzzle for paying customers.

For something this simple to remain a problem for so long is frankly a joke. It hardly inspires confidence in buying more Arlo products—or suggests that Arlo has much interest in giving existing customers a reason to stay.

Please explain exactly how to schedule uninterrupted coverage from 22:00 to 06:00, including the minute between 23:59 and 00:00.

That's not the only issue. Firmware updates happen in the middle of the night, too, potentially disabling a camera/all cameras for a few minutes when you probably need them most.

I believe the web interface (my.arlo.com on a PC) will let you schedule across midnight - though I don't currently use custom modes, so it's not something I've checked recently.

The other option is to use the three built-in modes (living with the constraints of only having three).
