Hi @JamesC

When will the development team look into Arlo cameras missing recording events?

Also, I never got a straight answer from you guys (on here or from Adam), so I thought I'd ask again: can you confirm whether cameras missing/recording events depends also on whether one has a subscription or not. In other words, does having a subscription improve detection rates/activation of cameras in response to movement and how long movement is taking place.

Thank you.

The development team is always making improvements to ensure the best performance for your Arlo devices. Having an active subscription plan (or not) has no impact on your cameras ability to detect motion. The camera's sensitivity settings, positioning, distance from the object being detected, environmental conditions, etc. all factor in to whether or not the camera can detect something. If you are experiencing a detection issue, it could be due to any one of those dependencies, but typically the best place to start is with the camera positioning to make sure the camera is angled correctly and in an optimal location for best performance. This article covers that fairly well, explaining how the camera detects motion and where you can position it to be sure it has the best opportunity to detect motion: https://kb.arlo.com/37/Arlo-Camera-Placement-Tips
