So, we have about 10 cameras, mixture of floodlights. Cameras, and doorbell. I would like 5 to be armed at all times and the other 5 to be armed between sunset and sunrise. I cannot figure out how to do that. I can only see how 1 schedule can be set to each mode and not be camera, like it reads in the manual. Am I crazy? I tried to speak to support but there has been no resolution. I tried chat and submitting, so reaching out to the community.
I did try to set Arm standby and arm home, but I didn't realize that I would have to manually switch it for it come into effect.
Help!

Yes, you schedule modes. You can think of these as presets. Unfortunately there are only three. While you can modify all three, you cannot add more.
Arlo says they will add back custom modes (letting you add more "presets").

Here's one approach that will work.
First set up
- "Arm Away" to arm all 10 cameras
- "Arm Home" to arm all 10 cameras
- "Standby" to arm the 5 cameras you want armed 24x7
If you need help in doing that, this guide might be useful:
Then set up the two schedule automations:
- One to switch to "Standby" at sunrise
- One to switch to "Arm Home" at sunset
Enable both of these automations in both "Arm Home" and "Standby", but NOT in "Arm Away".
These screenshots might be useful:
This will give you the behavior you want. When you go away from home (vacation, etc) you manually set the mode to "Arm Away" in the dashboard. All 10 cameras will remain armed until you manually set the mode back to either "Arm Home" or "Standby". Then the schedule will resume at the next sunrise or sunset.
The disadvantage of this approach is that disarming an individual camera temporarily can't be done by switching to a different mode. For the cameras, you can just temporarily turn them off in the device settings. Unfortunately you can't do that with the doorbell. You can temporarily change the rule in the mode you are using to stop recording/notifications. Or you can just pause all notificatons (for all cameras).
Another option is to leave "Standby" as it is, and then instead set up "Arm Home" to arm only the 5 cameras you want armed all the time. Then have the schedule switch between "Arm Home" and "Arm Away" (enabling the automations in "Arm Home" and "Arm Away", but not in "Standby". This alternative would let you disarm all cameras by manually switching to "Standby". The disadvantage here is that when you go away you'd need to disable the automations in order to keep all cameras armed until you return.
