I wanted a system with a smart hub to store video locally and avoid paying for a monthly subscription. So, I purchased arlos ultra 2 system and a spotlight camera. Not even a year later arlo transitions to cloud storage only. Now my base station is obsolete and they want me to pay for a subscription to access recordings. Bye Arlo!

    I still see local recordings.

Are you getting an error?  Or is the app just saying that there are no recordings?

Have you tried ejecting the storage and looking for recordings after connecting it to a PC?  That would help sort out whether you have a playback issue or a recording issue.

Not the case.

What smarthub model do you own?

I thought local storage was available if you didn’t want cloud subscription.

I haven’t set my local storage up as I’ve heard it’s pretty cumbersome to set up/use,  but don’t have first hand experience with it.

the base/hub that came with my ultra2s have the capability.

Look on your base/hub, mine has an SD slot on the bottom of it. lift it up, look underneath.

which base/hub do you have?

ah yes, understood.

That’s part of the cumbersome to set up/use , that I mentioned.

wish they(arlo) were more user friendly , but the greed took over for them.

The base/hub that came with your ultra2s HAD the capability originally but Arlo changed that. There is an SD card in the SD slot on the bottom of the hub. The model is VMB5000
