Arlo's current app is absolute rubbish. Took ages to finally get any semblance of working schedule and automations. Now it's suddenly stopped switching between Modes. Automations all work when you test them, but not a single switch happens when left to it's own devices at specified times. For the last year, it would Arm Away at 22h00, change to Arm Home early in the morning (only difference is the siren is de-activated). Then Standby during daylight hours. One of my big gripes with the new version, was that if I want to disable everything temporarily (maybe to let a dog out for 10min), the Schedule overides the work mode if it hits a scheduled mode change. Now NOTHING changes when it's supposed to. If I set it to Stanby, it stays there. Set it to Arm Away, it stays there. Nothings changed on configs, schedules or automations, but it's completely manual. Deleted everything, recreated from scratch and still nothing.

    The Arlo development team is currently investigating reports of this behavior. The team has identified the cause and a fix should be coming shortly. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information to share with the community. In the meantime, you may begin to notice some improvements, though we are still waiting for verification.

While geofencing has never been working properly for me (see this), it has come to my attention that scheduled routines that have been reliably working are now starting to fail.

 

I DO hope that this is just intermittent, but I'll record my incidents here:

 

1. [2025.08.20] ARLO app was ARM HOME and an enabled routine that was supposed to switch to ARM AWAY at 11:30pm did NOT switch.  This was wrong.

 

2. [2025.08.21] ARLO app was ARM HOME and an enabled routine that was supposed to switch to STANDBY at 7:40am did NOT switch. This was wrong.

Since yesterday I have had the same problem. The modes are no longer changed according to the automated schedule.

Arlo Pro 5S Automations have stopped triggering following August 19th, 2025 update. All settings were checked and rechecked, logged off and back on, rebooted mobile devices, deleted app. I can’t be the only user with this issue? Has been working fine for a year. Any suggestions appreciated.

 

devices used: iPhone and ipad, both IoS 18.6

I have 3 Arlo Pro 3 cameras and, like a lot of people, am having issues with setting up automation.

 

I've read at least a dozen other threads and articles (I wish I were exaggerating) and I think this should work, but it's not changing modes at the scheduled times so I'm hoping someone can help.

 

What I want:

 

Cameras 1, 2, and 3 to be on/motion recording from 8 pm to 8 am (setup as Arm Away mode)

 

Cameras 1 and 2 to be on/motion recording from 8 am to 8 pm. Camera 3 (Catio) off. (Standby mode)

Your screenshots show the correct setup.  Several users are reporting that their schedules stopped working recently, and I suspect you are also experiencing this bug.  So follow the forum posts, and try again when this is resolved.  In the meantime, you'll need to switch modes manually.

 

As an aside, I'd set up Arm Home to match Arm Away, and then set the schedule to switch to Arm Home.  Then use Arm Away for when you are actually away (keeping all cameras armed until you return).  But that won't resolve the immediate problem.

Same. Took days and days of trial and error to get the funky thing working last time there were changes, and then yesterday it just quit working.

 

Just now I went to my iPhone App Store and saw that there is an update, so I installed that. Maybe, just maybe, this will fix the problem when my next automation is supposed to run.

Custom schedules stopped working on 8/20/25.  It looks like other users are reporting the same issue.  Is Arlo working on this system wide problem?

yup, mine just stopped running the schedule as well. no problems on my end - the schedule had been running fine for over a year (but yes, nothing intuitive in how that system works ...). my system similar to yours - arm home at night, standby during the day. running a test works but the automations not working anymore.

 

so, an ios/app issue (of course tech support will tell you that you are wrong so not going to bother calling them after previous nightmares trying to advise them of bugs in the app). perhaps associated with running the app on two devices at the same time? the app doesn't seem to handle that well - if i get a notification i get a badge on both devices but it will only clear on one and the other hangs around for at least a day.

 

VERY poor app. hard to use and multiple bugs. most just irritating, but this latest bricks it for me. problem is, google is just as bad - in google if someone rings the doorbell when in standby mode it won't record - how stupid is that?

They are showing up in my Feed, though I am seeing some delay before they show up.  I am using 6.3.4 on iOS.
