Arlo secure 5.2.2:

I have two cameras for several months and noticed app size ‘ Documents and data’

is now at 1.9GB.
i deleted some videos from the feed and each time saw the size growing. Now 2.64GB.
Why is the app getting so large and how can it be limted or managed. I see no storage options in the app. Thanks.

What OS are you using?

Are you using local storage? Each time you 'view' a video from local storage, these will end up in your phone's memory. So, if you have Android, go to 'App info', then click on 'Storage & cache', then clear cache to reduce the size.

However, I'm unsure if Arlo has made any changes to local storage in that thumbnails now may be automatically downloaded - I've noticed some of mine started appearing as screenshots. Someone else can comment on this.

Oops that info would help sorry:

iOS (18.1.1)

There is no clearing cache.

There should be a way to manage storage on the app itself to stop bloating.

Workaround could be to delete and reinstall every few months but I’d rather avoid that if it means re-pairing the cameras etc.

There used to be a setting that allowed you to delete downloaded videos but I can't find it anymore on Android. Not sure when that disappeared. You may want to just search for videos to find the location (could be in various places) and then delete from there.

I agree.
