I see that latest android available now is 6.2.2.  With my app still sticking to 5.6.1 (released 11-Mar-2025), do we know:

  • what bugs have been fixed from 5.6.1 to 6.2.2?
  • what bugs have been introduced from 5.6.1 to 6.2.2?

(not interested in any "enhancement" introduced)

They've addressed the choppiness of recordings.

With every release, James used to provide a list of what has been addressed. He doesn't do that anymore.

While it may be the Android update to the July patches and/or the latest Arlo app, I'm finding that the "Internet connection is lost - geofencing not available" notification on boot is  now gone. It's survived multiple reboots with no issues so far. How that may or may not affect GF operation is now under test.

so basically ARLO is still NOT focusing on show stopper issues like geofencing (that I have been suffering for 12+ months), lack of more modes etc ... but rather keep pushing out new versions, that are achieving almost nothing.

So far (and it's been true on other releases, too) GF has been working well. I don't have a lot of times where both of us have left the house but I wouldn't say the app hasn't improved, although whether the phone OS has changed over time to help location services I can't be sure.

good on you feeling good with your world of geofencing.  I have submitted my ticket on my half-broken geofencing here and even ARLO HAS BEEN acknowledging geofencing issues themselves --- it's just they keep telling me they are looking into this they are looking into this.
