My real question is: Does anyone NOT have an issue with this? How do you not, what did you do to fix it?

I keep getting alerts outside of what I set as an activity zone, and I'm pretty certain that I did it right - it seems very similar to what my old camera did. I only have four points of control and can only select a square zone, not at all like what the videos show. I am on Android.

In posting this I saw a bunch of suggestions to read up on and they all dealt with "Activity Zone". I read a couple and it seems to be an ongoing issue. I see old posts and also new ones from 2022.

My doorbell is the wired sort and it is brand new as this is my second day with the unit, futzing with it and trying to set it up correctly. I have updated the firmware during the install so I have to presume I have the latest. I have also installed the app for the first time yesterday, so I have to assume it is the latest as well.

I have done 2 things to help with this on my doorbell:

1) create the appropriate zone (you already have)

2) reduce motion sensitivity to under 50% in your modes (testing needed to get what you want)

This has helped with false triggers from reflections of the sun's IR off cars, tree leaves, etc.

Thank you. I just lowered it.

It's odd that this was not available before - it was greyed out and I think it said something about the camera being in use.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I think I finally got this settled by using your motion detection suggestion & activity zone.

I tried doing it gradually and finally at 28% sensitivity, I don't get as many alerts. My activity zone is about 1/3 of the screen, the lower third.

One thing that concerns me is that the sensitivity had reset to 100% when I had a 1.5 hour blackout in my small town. Strangely enough, the activity zone did not reset - very odd.

In any case, thanks for the help.
