Arlo's original cameras were lower resolution, but did include 7 day cloud storage. As we upgraded our camera capabilities over the years to higher quality recording and introduced our advanced Arlo Smart features, we began offering a 3 month trial to our service plan with all features included for the first 3 months, instead of limited service for a longer period of time. Additionally, our newer camera models support local recording via USB storage and SD card, so your camera can record even without a subscription plan.
As a reminder, Arlo cameras do not require a service plan. Your camera will continue to record to local storage, live stream and send motion notifications if you choose not to subscribe to a plan. These features are available for the life of the camera.
