My Arlo Q security camera will connect to the internet when plugged into my laptop or directly to the WiFi router, but disables as soon as it is plugged into an electrical outlet.
Yesterday I tried to set it up again, and it did not connect even when directly linked to the router. All internet log-in details have been imputed correctly.
Do I return the product? Or is there something else I can do?

You aren't specific but I'm guessing you mean that the Q works fine when getting power from your laptop or router. That means the power supply is the problem. Pretty much any 5V/2A charger should work fine - most folks have a stash of these around so try that.
